Tampa Theatre
Arts and Culture
Recommended by Tampa Locals Travis and Ashley Jennings. Built in 1926, the Tampa Theatre is a stunning movie palace and community landmark. Under a ceiling painted to look like a night sky with twinkling stars, visitors can enjoy movies, concerts, and events in a romantic Mediterranean courtyard complete with old-world statues, flowers, and gargoyles.
Though it faced decline in the 1960s, community efforts saved it from demolition in 1973. Today, the non-profit Tampa Theatre Foundation manages the venue, hosting over 700 events annually and continuing to be a vibrant cultural hub in Tampa.
