Croom Trail
If you’re up for an outdoor adventure, Croom Wildlife Management Area is the place to be. Nestled in the Withlacoochee State Forest, this 20,000-acre gem is a nature lover's paradise, stretching along 13 miles of the winding Withlacoochee River and including the serene Silver Lake. Whether you're into hiking, biking, or horseback riding, there’s a trail for you—over 100 miles of them, in fact! For thrill-seekers, there’s also a dirt bike and ATV area. You can fish, boat, or camp at one of the five designated sites, soaking in the sights and sounds of wildlife like deer, wild turkeys, and even the occasional alligator. It’s a perfect spot for anyone looking to explore Florida’s natural beauty. Just a heads up—most roads are sandy, so a four-wheel drive is a good idea.
